OVERVIEW:
Wine
of the Gods is one of the world's most unique wineries.
Premium grapes are sourced from vineyards located
in the prime grape growing areas of Western Australia.
The juice is then shipped to Bali and made into
premium quality wine.
To
those only remotely interested in wine, the winery
is a fascinating place to visit. Since its establishment
in 1999, Wine of the Gods has become renowned for
producing quality wines whilst providing excellent
value for money.
DETAILS:
Wine
of the Gods began making wine back at the turn of
the century in 1999. This unique winery imports
the finest grape juice from Western Australia, brings
the juice by ship up to Bali, then proceeds to ferment
and make the wine right here in Bali. The wine is
made, bottled and corked entirely by hand with the
help of the Balinese staff.
The
wines made this year include a fantastic Premium
Chardonnay, which seems to be popping up everywhere,
and a very classy Shiraz. Both wines have received
rave reviews from wine critics and even a passing
French winemaker was so pleasantly surprised he
sent 10 boxes back to Burgundy.
In
2002 Wine of the Gods produced its first red wine
from the famous Margaret River region in Western
Australia.
