Ngurah Rai Reports 50% Higher Traffic in 2016
The number of flights leaving Bali’s Ngurah Rai International airport has been reported to increase since January 2016 with the most number of passengers leaving to Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, China and Hong Kong. Passengers leaving to mainland China contributed greatly to the increase in air traffic; flight departures increased by 46.94% to the country by December last year, according to the Bali Provincial Statistics Bureau (BPS-Bali), Adi Nugroho.
Coming in second place is Hong Kong with an increase of 6.59%, followed by Australia with 3.63%, Singapore with 1.06% and Malaysia with 0.30% increase. With the increase in air traffic activity, the number of passengers leaving to their designated country also saw an increase from December 2015 to January 2016 with to Australia increasing by 46.94%, China by 80,.5% and Hong Kong by 7.94%. Meanwhile, the number of passengers to Singapore decreased by 2.06% and Malaysia down by 6.75%.
