More Japanese Tourists In Bali
Number of Japanese tourists visiting Bali from January to August this year has shown significant increase, with 154, 597 visiting the island between this period, marking a 7.98 percent increase from the same period last year.
Statistics show however, that Japan had fallen to third place in terms of most number of tourists by country, with China taking second place, taking over the previous position held by Japan and Australia remaining at first place with the most tourists visiting the island; as stated by Central Statistics Agency head Adi Nugroho, as quoted by Antara news agency.
In addition to breathtaking landscapes, Balinese culture is thought to be one of the highlights of the island for Japanese visitors. Adi said many Japanese tourists visited Bali to learn how to play tabuh (traditional percussion) and to learn Balinese dances.
“And they usually return to Bali the following year to continue their lessons in tabuh and Balinese dance,” said Adi.
